Should i drop out of university and go back to college to change my career choice?
I'm currently in my first year of my nursing degree and so far i'm not enjoying it and feel like dropping out to return to college to study an Access To Humanities course, then go to uni to study for a degree in history and and then eventually do my PGCE to become a teacher. Part of me wonders if i should just stick my nursing out and then do a second degree in history after and then the PGCE or just drop out and follow my teaching route from now?
Also i really want to move to Australia and i know history teachers are not in demand but nurses are all over the world and then i can eventually search for a teaching post once over there. I'm just so confused and really need some advice on what to do, ever since i was a child (26 yrs now) all i ever wanted was to be a nurse but once i was on clinical placement it was so different to what i thought it would be

Re: Should i drop out of university and go back to college to change my career choice
well you said, History teachers are not in demand so do you think that would be a rewarding career financially speaking? Most likely not.
Stick to your dream i would say and chase it like a fat kid after the ice-cream truck. It will be more rewarding if you already plan on moving to a place where it is in demand.

I would say stick at it, you've managed your first year which is a brilliant achievement! The experience of one bad placement could be whats putting you off but who's to say that in your 2nd year things won't improve? Things might be different in year 2 and 3 then once you qualify and you have achieved the degree you set out to achieve you will be glad you stuck at it and can find the job of your dreams x
I hope everything works out for you x
