This is my last exam ever and I am guessing it is going to be a horrible one!
I found the spec really vague!

Yeah as the years have gone on they have started to be really specific and the way the teaching is makes it really hard to know what to write. Did a 2012 paper today and there was a question on ageing population which we have never learnt.

when you look at the past papers there ask the same questions over and over again so its a good idea to look through past papers!

To be fair, it isn't really something you need to be taught. A lot of this unit is actually common sense . Ageing population would be to do with the effects upon health and social care resources now that people are living longer.
So, if you think logically, if there are more older people, there will be more people using the NHS, therefore will cost the government more, will affect waiting times etc.
Also, that means there will be an increasing demand for residential and care homes since a lot of them will be unable to care for themselves if they are too old and get sick.
Things like that. If you think about different situations you don't really need to have learnt it; plus this a synoptic unit which means you have to pull knowledge from elsewhere, not just the lessons you have had on it

yeah it is a common sense answer and i was able to answer it at home . However for people who may have just focused on learning what they were given they may be put off from a question like this if they have never seen it come up before.

Got an E in january and didnt spend even one day on revision.. I knew people who had and got U's!! I think people over xomplicate it, the best thing is to go.throught mark schemes and pick up the answers you get marks for. Keep it simple.. E.g when its a six mark question. Identfy three points, and explain in a explicit way! I done this for the unit 1 paper which i got a D in the first time, i resat and got a C... It doesnt help when your teachers are absolutely pants!
