How do you feel? Especially when they are comparing you to your brother/sister in his/her area of expertise.

Really confused, but then I'm an only child..

Awful because my brother is older, meaning when I first start college, university, get a job, it's already old news as he's done that years ago. I'd also like to add that everyone is unique and parents shouldn't compare siblings, it's wrong to do so.

I'm going through this atm. My brother is older and has just finished a medical degree, therefore because his course is longer than most we are both graduating this year. Any time my parents tell family/friends that they have graduations to go to in July, they tend to say straight after "...is a Dr now!" It's as though I don't exist! Very annoying!!

I get this a lot. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I get really hurt but mostly I just try and brush it off. My sisters are both very different to me, so naturally they're doing bigger and better things

My mother doesn't do it so much now (my father has passed away, and even when he was alive he didn't make comments like that) but even though I was good at every other subject, maths has always been my weak point, so I had to resit the GCSE to get a C at 6th form. My brother is a year younger than I am, so he was doing his GCSE the same time I was resiting. I remember doing revision and getting frustated because I was really struggling with trigonometry, so my brother helped me my mum walked in and said it was "disgusting" I was getting him to help me and said "you're older if anything you should be helping him" it made me feel rubbish and like I was stupid (despite the fact I got better grades in english, and science than him, and the same grades in english lit, history, geography, DT, IT and french).
