Like... how seriously are you looking to learn it?

If you're just interested in the basics and stuff properly, it will take a while (to learn all the tenses and stuff PROPERLY).

If you're looking to book learn, it will take ages (and there are no good books, just stupid 'alif vow kaaf seen phay vow ray daal' oxford picture books, you'll need a teacher with those).

If you're looking to just be able to point to, say, a shop, and say 'dukaan', a mango and say 'aam', or your loved one and say sing out loud 'main hooon naaaaaa', then it probably won't take that long, the basic vocabulary and basic grammar etc is fairly simple, and I guess that's the standard to which I know it, and I get on fine in Pakistan.

Cool . Yes I'm serious but I don't wna do the proper lesson style teaching if you get me? Like past tense, present tense, future tense - I used to hate french at school. I don't want the list of tenses malarky. Just maybe like NORMAL convo and tell me whether you're speaking in past tense.

I want to learn how to speak it with the modern urdu mixed in. Like the way you guys speak. Don't wna sound like a foreigner :s

First question: what on earth is 'main'? hooon naaa? niiiice :s

edit: oh yeah AND I'd like to understand you're cultural references coz everyone makes them in their lingo. I don't think I'll ever understand your jokes :s BUT I'll give it a shot :P I'm not Pakistani
