Re: Gcse history medicine through time
The biggest tips I can give:
Make sure you answer the question, use almost all the words in the question if you have to.
Don't go off on one about stuff that isn't relevant, just because you know a lot about it, for example if it says something along the lines of 'What can you tell from the source about why people were opposed to Edward Jenners Vaccination' don't start saying how he inspired other people to carry on their work, even if it is true it isn't relevant.
Try and give a reason and explain it, you don't get high grades simply for listing.
Try and involve factors, such as how war, religion, communication, technology helped if relevant.
Link things together in longer answers.
Then again this is coming from a girl who in the surgery exam sat there and cried :') so maybe my advice ain't all that good :') -
Re: Gcse history medicine through timeWas that the one of the picture of the man with a beak? That really confused me...(Original post by California1970)

Re: Gcse history medicine through timeYeah, the man with the beak was Source C. I remember because I started writing about the wrong source for that question (Facepalm.) but I couldn't think about that much for it anyway. I found the exam pretty difficult, Medicine more so than Elizabeth.(Original post by brightbulb)

Re: Gcse history medicine through timeI found it ok, luckily I'd revised ancient and medieval medicine before the exam!(Original post by Emrys141)

Re: Gcse history medicine through timeI am doign medicine through time tomorrow, but we will have a different paper, as there is no way that the exam board would risk us getting any answers :') If only we were doing the same XD(Original post by LMD1)

I know I was thinking it was weird that people may have already done the same one before some of us!
