    single or twin room
I have to start choosing accommodations for uni. My priority is room price as I'm not as wealthy. The room price for single rooms are obviously higher than a twin room. But, my mom said it's always better to have an own room for yourself than to share one, and it is troublesome if you don't get along well with your roommate.

So, I was wondering if anyone can share your individual experiences about having twin rooms or in fact single rooms. Nice or nasty roommates, anything.

This will be really helpful for me.

    Thanks in advance!!

I'd say a single. I knew a few lads sharing a twin room, they said there was a lack of privacy. Some nights they wanted to just chill on their own, but its obviously problematic with someone else there.

Also, think if you develop a relationship at uni, you wouldn't want to take your bf/gf back to a room your sharing with someone else.

True. =( I personally will prefer single than twin. It's just the cost that's kind of bugging me. I don't feel like living too far off uni(as in 25mins train or 30mins walk?), but generally, cheaper single rooms tend to be further, and that means far from the uni facilities like gym, library, music practice room etc, which will be quite inconvenient if I want to use them at night. 15mins walk to uni is still fine.

To be honest, I don't think its worth getting a cheaper room and sacrificing your privacy.
