I'm a 20 year old guy.
I told my (female) friend I was thinking about getting a "tramp stamp" tattoo this summer and she said

"What

The

[expletive deleted]"

and I asked her what was up and she said:

"Only gay dudes have tramp stamps"
"Try higher up on your back or on your side on your rib cage...that's hot"




Anyways is that true, or does she have something against lower back tattoos? I was hoping on getting one there but if that's true, I don't want to for obvious reasons.

Honestly? It just reminds me of a woman, and i think that design would look much nicer higher up, like at the top of your back, rather than sorta by your hips. But obv it's your choice. Get some more opinions from friends/relatives

I wouldn't go as far as to say gay. that's just mean.

Also, a tattoo higher up the back often makes you look more muscular

Well I have seen a couple guys at the beach with them...

Reason for wanting one was that it's my favorite tattoo to see on women, so I assumed it would be women's favorite to see on me.

Plus I still think they look awesome...

There's a problem with that. It just goes to show that if it's your fave tattoo on a woman, lots of women have it. You don't want people to think you're a woman. Unless you want to be a woman. In which case, I would reccomend getting a sex change before the tattoo

We know them as slag tags, it gives the guy something to look at when busy, so same type of design in that place on a guy, wouldn't really have the same effect on a guy unless you were gay.

Using your logic, if breasts were your favourite feature on a woman. Womens favourite feature on you would be breasts.

But that kind of tattoo position is popular with women but not with men. I think it will look strange and it might be something you'll live to regret.

I wouldnt get a tattoo there if I was a guy especially, it's very femine (and trampy) plus if I knew you and you fell asleep I'd draw on a continuation to make an arrow that points to your ass lol !

Get it at the top of your back if you really want and it'll look a lot more manly, highlights muscle aswell

It looks quite good on Ted though!

Anyway, I think the type of tattoo you want to get would be in the middle of your lower back? I think it would look slightly odd on a guy, but if you really want to, go for it. If I were a guy I'd probably get a smaller symmetrical tattoo on my lower back but towards one side, like closer to your hips.
