ohhh :/ does it affect daily life much? or are they just more prone to infections? -
Re: mum might have lupusI recall my mate saying you do sometimes get the occasional pain and she could handle it.(Original post by AishaTara)

I honestly don't know -
Re: mum might have lupusthx im going to wait until the results are back and then see from there xx(Original post by *Dreaming*)
My aunt has lupus, (and has had ME). I think their are medications that help cope with it, so try and think positive. There is no point worrying until the results come back, and then see what the options are. -
Re: mum might have lupus
my boyfriend's mum has lupus too. I don't know much about it but he was upset when he found out. I don't think there is a way to cure it but it can be managed. We read that lots of fruit and veg and avoiding sweets helps
I will try to think of what else we read.
I also know it has three stages of severity so do you know which type you mum has? My boyfriend's mum has it quite bad but she is still doing fine and seems to be managing well so try not to worry!
) but yes, she should see a doctor as they can advise her and there may be other things with similar symptoms!

Re: mum might have lupus
My mum has a form of lupus. She has had it for over 15 years now I think. First it was really scary, but the trick is to catch it early. If you don't then it gets very difficult to treat as more and more things go wrong. When you find it though, there's loads of medication to help you get on with life, it doesn't hold my mum back a lot, the only thing in her case is that she has to rest a LOT, which means that she sleeps/ lays down for like 13 hours a day, but other than that, as long as you take medication, it is fine. I know it sounds like a scary disease OP, but if everything is done right, there's no need to worry
