Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 201218/20 for the first one(Original post by games211)
What did you get on your controlled assessment guys ....
30/30 for the second one
48/50 total which was an A*
I honestly have no idea how I managed that...
all I did was go on and on about random stuff which all sounded stupid to me!
Geography is my 'mess about' lesson, lol!
How did the exam go, guysssss?

Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012For A, I put Wave Cut Platform(Original post by QuantumSuicide)
How was the exam?
What did you guys write for the landforms labelled with A and B?
For B, I just put River Bank
That question seemed really simple but for me it was one of the hardest!!
My friend put Beach for A -

I put undercutting... random guess. I didn't answer the other one, I just couldn't think of anything. -
Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012A wave cut platform is basically formed by undercutting anyway(Original post by QuantumSuicide)

... at least I think it is!
and I thought beach could have been right seeing as though they form on Wave Cut Platforms. lol

Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012Not really sure. What was the point of the watershed diagram below the picture?(Original post by Wintabix)
I thought te A and B one was river cliffs and slip off slopes because it was in a meander? -
Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012For the first one I did about Rio de Janeiro with the favelas around the outside.(Original post by QuantumSuicide)
How did you do on the two case studies? I really struggled for time and couldn't write enough for both of them. Oh well, grade boundaries aren't usually that high.
For the second one I did the 2003 European Heatwave.
They went a lot better than I expected them to, to be honest! I was dreading the fact that I was going to run out of time as our teachers had really drilled it into us that it was "a mark a minute" and I'm really slow on exams so I went through it all as fast as I could
and don't worry, you don't actually have to write that much for the case studies, as long as you relate it to the question and get the key points in

Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012For last year's exam it was 41/60 for an A*. What do you think the grade boundary for an A* will be for this year's exam?(Original post by NothingTraLaLa)

Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012Yep, that actually sounds right!(Original post by Wintabix)

We haven't even done much about rivers, just forms of erosion in them like Abrasion :L and I hardly revised anything about coasts and erosion and I was trying to do the questions quickly so I had plenty of time for the case studies so I just put the first thing that came into my head :L -
Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012What the hell. In my mocks I got 43/60 for Geography and that was a B...(Original post by QuantumSuicide)
For last year's exam it was 41/60 for an A*. What do you think the grade boundary for an A* will be for this year's exam?
So I honestly have no idea, sorry
What do you think it'll be? -
Re: GCSE Geography WJEC Wedensday 14th June 2012Waaaaah? Perhaps your teacher graded it as a B so you worked even harder. He/she may have thought that you would slack off if you achieved an A* which you did.(Original post by NothingTraLaLa)
