As long as you show that you worked out d(Nphi)/dt ,and picked max value it will fine.

Need at least UMS 125/150 in G485
Do you know how many marks needed in this paper can get UMS 125marks?
    Thanks!!!

Thank you for the mark scheme
I think I dropped 23 marks in this paper so that would give 77/100
    Would that be an A?

For the question where it asks you to draw field lines, I think it said just to draw two lines, so I drew two horizontal straight lines going away from each centre outwards. Would this gain credit?

On 2d wouldn't you have to do 2 x 9.11 to the power of -31?
Because its a collision between a positron and an electron and they both have to same mass and are both converted into the gamma rays?

Each gamma ray photon takes half of the energy released, so theres no need to multiply by two, otherwise you would have to divide it by two again in later stages.

I think, worst case scenario (knocking a couple of marks off for each essay question) I'll have scored 85/100. Sweet.

Looks like I have around 73, give or take a few marks.
Thank you for doing this, Teachercol! It is much appreciated.

So is the 90% Raw marks or 135 UMS?

I.E. Do i need to get 90/100 or 135/150 UMS to get an A* given that i got 90% in the first A2 module.

    EDIT:

So i got 75/90 UMS in Newtonian World. = 83%

So i need 96% im UMS for This paper right? So 145 UMS? :s
grade boundaries change from year to year, UMS do not (they are a fair representation of how high into a grade you are)

what did you get in your coursework.

135UMS is nowhere near 90/100, the highest it's ever been for full UMS (150/150) was 88.

    7 a) Em radiation / photons / oscillating E and B fields / wavelength 1E-9 -> 1E-12. etc (2)
    Col
I put 'Small wavelength' and 'high frequency' for 7a, what do you think ill of got for that? Dont see why I didnt just put electromagnetic radiation looking back! Wondered as they're very similar!

How certain are people that 88% (for jan12 anyway) was the 100% cut off? Without just guessing logically from the a,b,c,d,e boundaries?

You had to draw them from point A and from point B, so you wouldn't get anything,

Looks like 69/100, which by the looks of things will be annoyingly close the the grade boundary for an A...

Thanks for this, it has put my mind to rest somewhat
I think I've got around 87 depending on the actual mark scheme and what they will allow

Its always twice the difference between A and B.

Turns out it wasn't too bad after frantically rushing to finish, I'm just hoping my writing was readable.

On the field line question (4b) are you sure they wouldnt want the alpha partilce's field to be reflected more than the uranium atom?

The uranium atom does have a much higher charge
