very much doubt they would ask you to draw a break even graph so don't waste time practicing, they may ask you to interpret one but you just need to be able to think on your feet, as long as you can identify margin of safety etc. you will be fine

Also do not stress out! i keep saying this because i am trying not to myself haha, but in the ACCN3 exam i didn't understand the first question on realisation and i freaked and sat doing nothing for 25minutes just panicking and trying to remember how to breathe, keep calm and carry on, leave the harder questions to the end if necessary and write down all of your workings
i knew the realision/dissolution would come up cos it hadnt been tested so i learnt it properly, so i got my break even charts and interpretation sorted out properly early on this time.

    need 59 for an A
good luck i need 61, got 92 in unit 1, 82 in unit 2 ( ****ed up on cash budget as i missed entries for a loan repayment lol) and 85 in unit 3, wbu?

and accn4 isnt as hard as accn3 or accn2 in content but its less predictable as to what will eb tested so equally as difficult for that reason

i have to wake up at 6 just to get to college but that's the downside of living an hour away i guess, this is the first exam i've done since January so my main focus is just on not panicking, there's nothing on the syllabus that i can't do, i just make calculation mistakes and miss the simple written marks because i over complicate, but i think if i spend the full 2hours on it i will be fine as i've been doing the mocks in an hour average
well i have no resits and because i do BTEC business ( got distinction*/distinction* so ecstatic with that ) i only have done 3 exams since leaving school (this one is the the fourth one) so i generally get very nervous in the build up to accounting exams, but once i open the paper, i am usually fine, i suppose doing BTEC and not doing more than 1 exam in an exam period is prob why

so you can still get an A* so good luck hope you do well! but you'll need a near perfect score, i cant cos i need 101 ums marks from accn4, which is impossible lol

my mock average is about 90% but i need 81 UMS for my A overall, i need 3 A's to get on to my uni course and this is by far my weakest subject, should have really re-sat ACCN1 but i've never resat before so didn't bother this time

i have done an exma anayisis of the new spec and i cannot be certain but soem of the topics below have a good chance of coming up. please note AQA has a policy of testing everything in the syallabus with 6 exmaination, this exam is teh sixth of teh new spec so untested areas are likely to be tested.

Capital inv appraisal written plus payback , (it has come on every paper except January 2011, payback remains untested since the january 2010 exam, in teh following 4 exams npv has come up 3 times, so my guess is its time for the payback method)

budgeting calculation, (possibly debtor creditor or cash as they remain untested in ACCN4 in the new spec) plus a written question on pros and cons (as that a big area which remains untested in the new spec)

ABC Calculation (remains untested in new spec)

unrealised profit written plus calculation (unrealised profit has come up both previous june examinations)

there could be a short variance question and could also be breakeven possibly even drawing a BE graph

I hope people find it useful, this is only a prediction so dont focus too much on it even though i have based it on good detailed analysis of past papers
mate ABC calculation questions wont come up its not on the spec. only written questions will be tested on this topic. and a BE graph wont come up either.

variance and capital investment apraisal are AQA most favourite topics they have been on everysingle paper.

ah business is my best, i'm doing international business at uni purely because i found A level so easy, apart from a few theory's you're supposed to remember i think its pretty much common sense, but people have different strengths/weaknesses i suppose

can anyone explain the labour budget on jan 12 to me im finding it difficult to understand the figures :/

you need to work out how many hours an employee will do do in a normal period, i.e 40 x 4 weeks, multiply that by the amount of normal periods which is 10 and then work out how many hours an employee will do over seasonal peek, which is 50 when you add the extra 2 hours a day on, multiply that by 3 because there is 3 of these periods and then add it together so you have the total number of hours that average employee will work a year - 2200.

then just divide the amount of hours a year (33,000 / 2200) and it will tell you that you have 15 employees
