Yehh.... bolshevism really should not have been on that paper.... the grade boundaries should be lower or they will remover the question.

That wolf question was awful! It's ridiculous as the Bolsheviks are covered in the Russia depth study in the OCR revision guide?

The Wolf (QUESTION 4A)
Although this was not on the specification, Bolshevism is a type of communism

The wolf and the blood represented the destruction of communism, like the spartacists sort of thingg.......

Sorry everyone but it was on the specification 'The Revolution of 1918–19 and the establishment of the Republic;' Our school certainly did very little on it apart from the Sparticists though :/

I think that they were forced to use more obscure sources perhaps because they might be running out of sources. :/

Thanks momo26396  for a minute I was really worried, I'd got the whole question wrong! :P

Oh crap.
These answers are completely different. I wrote for the bolshevik question that the purpose of the source was to encourage the people of Germany to take a stance against communism. The blood thirsty dog who has appeared to kill a German supports the idea that the communists were using violence to seize power and control the german people and that communism is a world threat/danger. At the time..blah..blah...spartacists...
^was done in more detail but that's the brief idea. Is that, completely out of context?

One other source that I completely messed up on was the Transparent Dodge source. Did anyone else get confused over what it was?

Sources are there totally for your own interpretation. Although the mark scheme says the 'main message' of the cartoon, it is ultimately your own opinion and the examiner will not take off marks if you can say what you think well enough!!!!!!!!!!!! The transparent dodge one was pretty simple.
Just wondering, for question 4B, you had to give two interpretations, or is that wrong?????

As in for and against Germany being able to pay reparations...................... using the source (like hyperinflation etccccc)

what do you guys think I would get if I explained the communist point but then mentioned the 'November Criminals' who were considered socialist (but in propaganda portrayed as Bolsheviks) and talked about the shock of the ToV so it was published because that was when opposition to the terms of the Treaty was at its most potent. I also talked about the fear of communism in the wake of the Russian Revolution of 1918. I thought about doing Spartacist revolution but the source was too ambiguous.

Overall, I must say that the paper was actually good!!!
wrote 1.4 pages for the ten mark questions
Did question 1+3+4+5

Wrote 1.5 pages for the ten mark questions
Also, you know for the question did hitler start the war?? could I have focussed on the nazi-soviet pact, outlining how he had signed that and how he had to take over poland and how chamberlain could no longer appease him/??

plebiscite held in 1935 to ask whether they wanted to rule on their own or be part of Germany
90% of people voted for union
Army entered
Gained back lost land, 13%

expand

I did that I put it was occupied by the league but in 1935 people voted if they wanted it to return. 477,000 voted yes, just under 50,000 said no. Hitler now gained back the Saar. Would I get the full 4 marks?

I feel like an idiot. I didn't mention loans in any part of the answer to do with the german "faking" a sinking.
Just out of curiosity what did you put as your knowledge in that transparent dodge question? I was stumped by the date, being 1921. I took a risk and began justifying the harshness of the terms of the treaty, such as the reparations being 2% of germanies annual production. I'm afraid It's not right, it's got me well paranoid D:

As mentioned previously, sources interpretation is your own. The idea seems good, so you will get the marks.

I did about that question. I put about the checolslovakia crisis and then Poland. For other reasons I did policy of appeasement and league weakness. You could write about soviet pact though because it was part of the steps to war.

it doesnt matter, sinceyou have backed up your opinion with details form the cartoon you can get a high mark. no answer is ever wrong if backed up with contextual knowledge-- teacher told me that
