Loads of people have told me not to do it but I think I'm going to give it a go. I am dropping it after as though to concentrate on chemistry and maths. I'm on an A in gcse but it's different I guess

I completely got the Transparent Dodge one wrong- lost all 7 for that one I'm pretty sure. Getting pretty worried now...

Why do you think you got it wrong?
At least we're in the same boat. It seems that a lot have messed up on the Bolshevik question but done well on the rest....it's the opposite for me D:

What did you put for the "does this source prove" question (if you did nazi Germany)?

Love, when you do a history coursework erase the idea that you do more than one question.....
The exam is rather simple, but the coursework-- you need to do well in it to get a good mark overall.
I would aim for 44/50 (since that has been the a* mark for like 5 years consistently).... do that and do well in the germany paper....

what do you guys think I would get if I explained the communist point but then mentioned the 'November Criminals' who were considered socialist (but in propaganda portrayed as Bolsheviks) and talked about the shock of the ToV so it was published because that was when opposition to the terms of the Treaty was at its most potent. I also talked about the fear of communism in the wake of the Russian Revolution of 1918. I thought about doing Spartacist revolution but the source was too ambiguous.

There was no Russian Revolution in 1918.

Overall, I must say that the paper was actually good!!!
wrote 1.4 pages for the ten mark questions
Did question 1+3+4+5

Wrote 1.5 pages for the ten mark questions
Also, you know for the question did hitler start the war?? could I have focussed on the nazi-soviet pact, outlining how he had signed that and how he had to take over poland and how chamberlain could no longer appease him/??

This was one of the reasons behind it, yes. However, I'd imagine you'd have to talk about other reasons, such as Lebensraum, the Danzig corridor etc.

did anyone do International relations (the first page) and then Russia (Stalin etc)

personally have never heard of 'Saar' which was the topic of one of the questions and neither have my classmates.

found the paper very hard - suggestions?

Ive just done the exam, you should have studied it. in 1919 due to treaty terms the saar coal field were handed to the allies (France) for 15 years in order to use the resources. In 1935 a plebiscite (type of election) took place to find out whether the workers of the field wanted to either remain under French control or return to German control. The election show that 9/10 people wished to return to German control and so this displayed his popularity during this time.

As to the wolf cartoon you should also have studied that. From the date people should have been aware that in 1919 Germany only one main event occured which was the Sparacist revolt. The revolt seen the death of two communist leaders Rosa Luxemborg (depicted in the picture) and Carl Liebneckt. They were killed when the SDP called upon the army, lead by General Groener, to capture them and kill them, there bodies were then thrown in a river which is sorta whats shown in the picture. I didnt know what the word meant but if you know the story the picture makes sense.

- Wrote it did prove, because of the words it used 'liars' etc
- Wrote it did not prove because it was shortsighted (hyperinflation and ruhr next year), starvation & disease in germany
Also, how the british person wanted to write good stuff so to please british people at home because they feared germany would attack in the future for revenge if the treaty was harsh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Conclusion, not prove, it was wrong and backed up my claims

Yeah I completely guessed the Bolshevik but think I got what everyone here is saying so a bit of a relief!

I just didn't read that 'transparent dodge' meant a trick or see the knees in the water! So I did the opposite of the message. How about you?

I said it suggests it but doesn't prove it... and then used a quote to show how it suggested it. Then went on to say how it isn't a holistic representation because it is incongruous with my own knowledge because of inflation, poverty etc.
What did you write? :s
Did you do international relations? If so, what did you get for the first cartoon- 'the final push'?

I did about that question. I put about the checolslovakia crisis and then Poland. For other reasons I did policy of appeasement and league weakness. You could write about soviet pact though because it was part of the steps to war.

What has the league weakness got to do with the start of WWII?

That's not for America? You'd talk about other steps to war such as te checkslovakia crisis and re-occupation of the Rhineland

Exactly. I still am amazed that people studying International Relations don't know anything about the Bolsheviks.

Ignore this child...
I'm sure everyone will get their marks if they do it right... you don't have to frikking write about them being thrown into a river for f*** sake!!! Nor do you have to right about this Groener guy... just write spartacists and expand generously as well as explain the source..... simpless
