Because it was around in the 30s, you have to consider other reasons for the war.(Original post by JOR2010)
What has the league weakness got to do with the start of WWII?

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012Hahaha. Nah i think it will be quite the opposite tbh, you can't lose marks but only gain(Original post by Melissajanex)

At least you know you haven't wrote too little! I remember my teacher said ''Write a lot about a little'' , never ever listen to that

Same! This is exactly what I wrote!(Original post by Melissajanex)
I did about that question. I put about the checolslovakia crisis and then Poland. For other reasons I did policy of appeasement and league weakness. You could write about soviet pact though because it was part of the steps to war.

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012If it's for Nazi Germany, then the reasons why Hitler began WWII are nothing to do with Czechoslovakia or the reoccupation of the Rhineland. It was just a further test of the European powers in the policy of appeasement, if that's what you mean.(Original post by Melissajanex)
That's not for America? You'd talk about other steps to war such as te checkslovakia crisis and re-occupation of the Rhineland

I do(Original post by JOR2010)
Exactly. I still am amazed that people studying International Relations don't know anything about the Bolsheviks.

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012I think it's quite easy to miss- 'Bolshevik' I only saw once in the whole textbook, think a majority of the country would have missed it!(Original post by JOR2010)

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012But the League was destroyed in its reputation by 1931, if not entirely by 1936. It had no bearing on international relations after this date.(Original post by Melissajanex)

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012whooaaaahhh definitely to do with germany. was to discredit the spartacist group who hoped to reach a government alike the bolshevik communisn in russia. many got it right in my school i think. basically weimar government wanted to portray bolshevism (spartacist) as degrading, bad to reduce support for it and its leader karl leibnecht and rosa luxemburg(Original post by Rick_095)
I found it pretty easy, except for the wolf one which no one had any idea about. I assumed it was to do with communism, so I'm sure I'll get a few marks for that question. I also spoke to my history teacher and he told us that it shouldn't have been in there as it's to do with Russia, not Germany. He said not to worry about it as very few would have managed to get it right; meaning the grade boundaries should be lower. -

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012Surely you've heard of the term 'Bolshevik' before, even outside a history lesson?(Original post by Coco406)

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012Im not saying you had to write about it, im just giving the story about the source which may make the source seem a lot easier. But, if you did answer the "what is the message of the poster" you could have used that story and General Groener for context.(Original post by momo26396)
Ignore this child...
I'm sure everyone will get their marks if they do it right... you don't have to frikking write about them being thrown into a river for f*** sake!!! Nor do you have to right about this Groener guy... just write spartacists and expand generously as well as explain the source..... simpless -
Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012I had, yes, but many many hadn't(Original post by JOR2010)

Re: OCR History B (Modern World) GCSE - 12th June 2012That makes a bit more sense, then. I guess people talked about the Nazi-Soviet Pact, Mussolini's foreign policy and tensions, the Spanish Civil War, appeasement, the British guarantee on Poland's independence? Not all of these are necessary, obviously.(Original post by Melissajanex)
