GCSE Choices: Triple award or double and history?
Hey I'm picking my GCSE subjects.

I chose the compulsory, geography and triple award. However I also enjoy history but I don't want to drop geography. Therefore I can either do history, geography and double award or just geography and triple award.

What would you advise between double/triple and history/geography

I have expected grades the same in all of the above subjects.

    I'm also doing ad maths

I do History and Triple Science, and I'm so glad I picked those! I would have liked to have done Geography too, but obviously I couldn't. I'd say Triple Science, because it gives you a greater scientific knowledge, and I personally think that having Biology, Chemistry and Physics looks better than Science and Additional Science. Triple is (obviously) a lot more work, however, it's nice to learn about each one in depth. Geography and History also have a LOT that you need to know (more so for History, there's loads you have to know! - Had my exam today :/) Therefore, I'd advise you to do Triple Science and either Geography or History, just do the one that you like most, since if you do the one you don't like as much, you won't enjoy it, therefore you're less likely to do well in it. Good luck with your choices!

I don't really know what I want to do at a level or beyond school. That's part of the problem but thanks anyways

    YES! History and Triple <3
Although, after my History exam today I'm not sure it was a good idea

I had already picked geography and spanish, and then had to pick between triple and history. I picked history. Geography and History are my two favourite subjects. Double will still get you onto A-Level Sciences, and if it does help then you could just study triple over the 6 weeks before you start A-Levels.

Just pick your favourites. I nearly picked triple as it was 'more respected' than double. I would have dropped history and I would've spent my 2 years bored out of my mind.

Because I have no room to do all three by the time the compulsory ones are taken.) (we have two english, maths [plus I have ad maths], a modern language and an arts subject [HE music etc])

    Oh, alright.

Well if you plan on doing science A-Levels/Degree/Career then do the triple award but if you don't plan on doing that or are not sure what path you want to take in the future I would take history as it is arguably the most respected humanities subject.
