Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)It all gets burned, quite got I would say, however. It may not be hot enough for Nitrous oxide :/(Original post by XtremeLuke)
For the question about the limestone in the kiln, I put that the answer was: Carbon Dioxide and Water Vapour. However a lot of people have put an oxide of nitrogen, at first glimpse I thought it was this, but realised there was no mention of High temperatures and this would also make the Methane absolutly pointless to have been mentioned.
Did anyone else get this? Am I wrong? -
Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)Did it? Whoops I must of missed that, maybe I got that wrong? Unless Water Vapour still counts!?(Original post by DON5)
The question did mention that it needed a high temp to react the limestone. I put in carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide.

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)can u say oxides of nitrogen, because the nitrogen was oxidised during the burning.(Original post by DON5)
The question did mention that it needed a high temp to react the limestone. I put in carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide.
And can u say CO2 was produced as the limestone thermally decomposes, and the carbon in methane oxidises to form CO2 -
Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)That's what I put. Argon is very unreactive element(Noble gas). It therefore does not react with the metal compounds and metals in the reactor. Whereas air contains impurities and other gases, such as Oxygen which react with the compounds and metals in the reactor.(Original post by Navdeep)
You know the question when it said, why was argon used instead of air? I said that it's unreactive? But some people at my school said it was something else..?

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)240 on the first calculation question and 250kg on the next.(Original post by Allison.)
what did you guys get for those graph q's? the first one, that asked to calculate the mass and the second one on the next page with the titanium metal impurity thing? i got 240 for the first one and 750 on the second one, but i think it's wrong...?
That's what some people in my class got as well, hoping it is right -
Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Exam Unit 1 (C1) 15th June 2012 (New Spec.)oh well...hopefully they'll lower the grade boundaries to make it easier to get an A..(Original post by Crystallouise99)
240 on the first calculation question and 250kg on the next.

yeah they were only 1 mark, im sure ive got one of them right. no idea why the graph question is causing such debate it was only one mark:s(Original post by e16)
The graph questions were just 1 mark weren't they?:s i think I've got it wrong :/

What did people get for the reason for weak evidence of the Milrey-Urey Experiment.I said that we can't be certain what the conditions on Earth were like when life formed.(Original post by Saraxo)
what did everyone put for why miller and ureys experiment was weak ?
99.9% sure that's wrong though!
Was it a two mark question?
hoping for an A if not an A* but doubt wil get that, just will stick with the A
Much appreciated.
