Maths at Nottingham (and the gym!)
How is the quality of teaching for Maths at Nottingham University? It's apparently meant to be a good place for maths, but has anyone got any reviews from experience?

Also, does anyone happen to know what the gym facilities are like there, and how much they are?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks, Charlie!

Re: Maths at Nottingham (and the gym!)
I've just finished the first year of maths at nottm, and I'm very happy with it so far. This is my second attempt at a degree and it certainly compares favourably with my first. There are a few new lecturers this year, (and a brand new building too!) so there have been minor teething issues, but overall I think it is really good.

It is a large department, I think the intake is about 200 students, so if there was a minor criticism it might be that things seem a little 'impersonal' at times - there are over 300 students in the statistics lecture as some other courses take this class too.

The trade off for this though, is that there is a vast choice of 3rd and 4th year modules - and after the first year, there are no compulsory modules at all.

I can't tell you anything about the gym I'm afraid, I'm not really a gym kind of guy. But I'm pretty sure all prices are on the website?
