Her website bio is not factually incorrect.

Amber has had a great extent of experience within the administrative side of many different companies, within the law, charity and health sectors, working directly with Senior Directors and Chief Executive Officers.
I would be hard pressed to argue that someone has a 'great extent' of experience with a cumulative 22 months in employment. Furthermore, 3 companies is not 'many'.

Henry looks like a pretty heavy character. I wouldn't want to be asking him for my £9K back.

I wonder if people fall for this kind of thing much?

Haha it would be the last thing you do!

Remember Fresh law grads are desperate to get a job so being promised one, some vulnerable people would. We need more safeguards against things like this!

I would argue that "great extent" is subjective and you can make your own mind up having read her CV. Of course, we don't know exactly what kind of work she did on her jobs - she may have been given a lot of responsibility etc.

"Many" is just a poor word to use on a CV/bio as nobody has worked for "many" organisations, just state how many.

In my opinion the only thing she is guilty of is selling herself to the max - something that most do with CVs etc.

This is all moot however as the firm is dodgy as feck.
Okay, this is one of those internet arguments where you're not going to admit you're wrong. Any sane person could see you are just arguing for the sake of it.

I personally doubt very much she wrote that little bio on their website.

I am shocked that the papers and the LawGazette are not all over this yet?

Is it just going on under the radar .... with nobody saying / doing anything?

Maybe other people are doing it as well? Sounds like the sort of exploitative thing that can be expected when there are a lot of people chasing very few jobs.

    Hi everyone
Firstly I was thinking of paying the £9,500 so I decided to do some research on the company and see reviews such as the ones posted here.

However I must admit that I was very shocked to see these reviews as they were all so negative. I decided to go and have an interview yesterday (thursday) regardless.

I was extremely pleased with the welcome I recieved when there, it was clearly a professional working environment. My interview went very well, I cannot wait to start the course.
After the interview I was given a tour of the solicitors office, and was pleasantly surprised by the number of solicitors working there, there was around 10.

Personally I believe that this is an opportunity that previous users of the site have missed out on. I would recommend that anyone considering this course chooses to pay the £9,500 as this is a good deal.

You and your firm are scum. You're thick, badly educated, you can't write (or probably speak) English properly and you're morally bankrupt.

Smartypants is very precocious. Aston Carter only recruits graduates to these paralegal positions. Smartypants, who has just joined TSR, is 18 according to his profile. Anyone who starts a law degree at 15 must be extremely talented. No doubt that was the reason that he shone at interview.

An 18 year old graduate .... now this is a first. Wow they came on here to make their first post ... SmartyPants100 reveal yourself ..

    Now is the time.

How could their have been 10 solicitors where their are only 5 on the website. When does this actual course start SmartyPants? . I know thats something that we have all been wondering.

Smartypants is back with a brand new Username, hurrah!

Incidentally, the standard that Mr Talewa writes at is shameful. Low 2:2, more effort required. Proofreading necessary.

Aston Carter Solicitors has been dissolved and the website has been taken down. Says all you need to know about the firm.
Can you offer a source for this? The website seems to be up and runnig now.

on rof someone suggested that Aston Carter Solicitors had been registered at companies house but was now dissolved.

the website does appear to be running now but was down most of the day.
Well, I only hope whoever it was isn't doing due diligence at my firm.

Aston Carter Solicitors Limited was dissolved on 17th May 2011.

The firm that is registered with the SRA and appears on Solicitors Online here is a traditional partnership.
