Hello! I'm doing just Journalism this coming September. Out of interest, I assume you guys were told that the creative industries stuff is moving to Bower Ashton?
What do you think of the move? I wasn't too happy myself tbh, part of the reason I picked UWE was because of Frenchay campus :/

Hi! Yeah, I got an e-mail a couple of weeks ago and wasn't too thrilled myself, I had already made plans to stay on campus and stuff..and I had to rethink everything I just hope it's worth it and they provide all those media studios and platforms.

Ah yes, these elusive 'studios' xD I don't get what's happening at all :/ I thought they were being built on Frenchay when I went, in fact I think they said they were building them at the time. Obviously not, I'm just praying they are ready at Bower Ashton when we get there.

Yeah!! I'm doing journalism and PR too. feels great that the marketgate accommodation was about £2000 more expensive than the frenchay accom. which was compleeetely gutting.

Hey natalie_, why are you thinking of changing the course? just out of curiosity, if I may ask. And I'm going Nelson/Drake house!

Hi, I guess if I do Journalism then Im learning about more rather than one aspect of it, plus the Journalism course will become accredited in 2013. You can still go into a career of PR after doing Journalism too. But im not too sure yet! and is Nelson House in city centre?

Oh, is it not accredited already? I thought it was :/ and yeah, it's true , if you only do Journalism you'll get all 4 modules in it, if you combine , you have to split them. I asked you because I thought you'd heard bad stuff about the joint course haha and I was worried.
Yup, Nelson and Drake it's literally in the city centre, on Rupert Street , only a few minutes away from Markegate as far as Google maps says

No not heard anything bad haha just not sure I want to do that incase I dont enjoy it! ha ha no its not accredited yet, I think the course has to run once for it to become accredited, so i guess the students graduating in 2013 will be the first group! ahh thats cool!! I am hoping for Marketgate. Do you think will have the same lectures etc for the Journalism?

Yeah, I checked the website and indeed it will be accredited in 2013 by NCJT or something haha
    Good luck with getting Marketgate!
Yes, I think we'll get the same lectures and lecturers as Journalism students do. From what I've understood , first year we have 4 modules , 2 will be Journalism and 2 PR
I think you're the 3rd person I encounter doing this course, at one point I was afraid nobody else but me had applied for it haha

Yeah, I think living in the city will be quite awesome, especially if you're planning on getting a job like I am, it's likely that it'll be central.
I am excited too ! no, unfortunately I haven't gone to any of the Open days, and I'm not going to this one either , because I am from Romania and it'd be pretty expensive to go for just a couple of days

I have asked to change now I think there will be alot more variety especially if you dont enjoy doin PR you'll be stuck doing it, and graduating being accredited will help in getting a job too.

Yes, I am SO looking forward! you're not the first person I encounter that says she/he would be terrified haha but I'm ready to be independent! And there wasn't much choice since I wasn't planning on going to uni in Romania.
I have a couple of friends in Bristol and also I'm coming with my boyfriend, so i think that'll make it go smoother
Oh, you changed already? bummer lost a future classmate haha. Btw, I think the journalism&pr will also be accredited along with the journalism one , at least the journalism part of it.
