Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussion
Yeah I liked it, good easy exam, long questions were gifts, that equilibrium and CO2 i had no idea, I blathered about potential carbonic acid effecting the presence of OH- ions but genuinely i didn't know so that's not right, but yeah, happy with that exam, very happy

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionI got 1st order for both, yeah same messed up the kc, don't know what i was thinking. The rest went ok, I think i dropped one on the ionic equation I thought it just wanted a balanced equation not an ionic one.(Original post by waxcrayons)
I thought it was okay-ish :/
what did people get as the orders for the rate equation? messed up the kc big time haha
fingers crossed though! -
Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussion
It could have been a lot worse, overall I'm quite pleased
The buffer confused me a bit, but I sorted something out by the end.. and the CO2 thing on Q7 I had no idea, ended up blabbering about something :') Hopefully only lost a few marks here and there though

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussioncos my friend said he got first order for no and second order for the o3 one or something but i got first for both of mine too(Original post by gerrard1892)

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionYeah its first for both, I confirmed with my tutor(Original post by waxcrayons)

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussion
I thought this exam was alright :O I liked the pH questions, and the very last question was sooo lucky cos I'd spent a good four hours revising those questions a few days before:|
I had no idea what to write for the reaction between platinum and that water of reagia thingy, or what adding CO2 to the system would do to the position of equilibrium :/
Don't think I've done fantastically well but don't think I bombed it either (: x -
Personally, I think it'll only be slightly below 80 for an A and so on.. It wasn't too bad, although they always go down a bit :P(Original post by Aanisah94)
What do you think the grade boundary is likely to be?

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionI'd guess mid to high 70s for an A. It was a pretty straightforward paper.(Original post by Aanisah94)

That said, did anyone mention hydrogencarbonate for the second-to-last question (where CO2 affects the equilibrium)? I came up with a wonderful answer where CO2 reacts with OH- to make HCO3-, but really I was just BS'ing. But it would be nice if I'd actually got it right by some miracle

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionYeah, it was a pretty easy question, but don't forget it was only worth 2 marks.(Original post by jessicad123)
What did you two think of the bidentate ligand thing? I thought it was strangely easy really just drawing the ligands?

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionFor that equation, I got Pt + 6HCl + 4HNO3 --> H2PtCl6 + 4NO2 + 4H2O(Original post by alice.babee)

Re: Chemistry F325 Equilibria, Energetics and Elements POST exam discussionOh GOD I got nothing like that haha! I was going to put something like that but then in the question it said it was a mixture of hydrochloric acid and nitric acids so then I started thinking about HNO3 and HNO2 and all that :/ oh dearrrr!(Original post by tallen90)
For that equation, I got Pt + 6HCl + 4HNO3 --> H2PtCl6 + 4NO2 + 4H2O
