sophie are these the answers for the higher paper or foundation? -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012There was a question on higher on vectors, im sure there was. towards the end(Original post by Luke2997)
I took higher and it was easy!! Really annoyed vectors wernt on it cause i revised that the most. But anyway much easier than Non-calculator ;D -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012No there wasn't.(Original post by pupil9999)
There was a question on higher on vectors, im sure there was. towards the end -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012
Did anyone actually take foundation :/
if so what did you get for finding the height of the 3 blocks? The question went something like you need to estimate the heigh of the blocks if there were 27 of them. I'm not sure if this is correct but I did
Length x width x 27 (as a height) -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012Wow, really?(Original post by outrexian)
The trapezium didn't require trig, people over complicated it. It was simple proportion.
What did you get as the answer? -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012It's 8/11.(Original post by timtim51)
was the answer to the last question 8/33
and i swear the second to last question was wrong as it said prove it was 2-8n over n(n-2) but i got 2-6n over n(n-2)
1/11*3=3/11
1-3/11=8/11
You do -n * 2 which is -2n which actually gives -8n.
Instead of n*2 =2n.
It was a matter of negatives (: I got confused too at first

Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012yeah there was! It was the last question!(Original post by outrexian)
No there wasn't. -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012The last question was a probability question. I think you sat a different exam to me. AQA, linear, paper 2 (calc) higher?(Original post by lucejackson)
yeah there was! It was the last question! -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012Yup, I think I got 55cm^2?
Basically you did 12/8 (two sides you knew from either triangle) to find the scale factor, which is 1.5, and then used that to figure out the other side by doing 11 * 1.5. Now you have all the lengths needed to calculate the area of each triangle and subtract them from each other. -
Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012I did foundation and I do not remember this question : ( I have screwed this exam up completely.(Original post by theking1)

Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012Gosh, I did some long winded method -.- And yeah, my friends said today they used similar triangles. At least I got the same answer! (:(Original post by outrexian)

Re: AQA GCSE Maths - 13th June 2012I think everyone else here did linear. Did you do modular? The one where the last question was vectors on a trapezium and there was a freaking huge 7 mark trig question? :P(Original post by meeow)
This is unit 3 yes? I've read some confusing unrelated posts :P
cheers- tried to do similar triangles but failed- hopefully get a few ,marks for working out!
