Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
Hey man, finally there is a post about it, i found the question on "How many a forensic psychologist treat an offender" hard but the rest was lovely. Describing Ramirez et al results was great aswell considering I knew that like the back of my hand. Hopefully got an A* here, how about you?

Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
I thought it went gd, thanks. Like you said, the forensic psych question was slightly difficult, but from my memory, I said that they can help by :
Treatment (mentioned CBT, PCT,Medication, Group/1:1 therapy, Anger management etc.) and explained how they work, i.e. to help them develop social/empathetic skills, or to repress negative thoughts with positive ones, for CBT. Ramirez question, was great, I must agree. Madon was great too. Good luck! -
Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
Ramirez is such an awesome name, that experimenter is blatantly a Colombian drug lord. Your forensic answer sounded fantastic bro!
Madon was good as well although i forgot to mention social desirability as a weakness but i put i think 3 strengths and weaknesses for each. My friends said they were stumbled there but i revised her study thoroughly because it was yet to come up in last years paper or the specimen.
For the Madon evaluation i put:
STRENGTHS:
1) questionnaires are objective so more reliable results (no varying interpretations)
2) 110 people used makes results more valid
WEAKNESSES:
1) only girls used so less generalisable to males
2) May only have been a correlation (self fulfilling prophecy did not affect results at all)
3) peer pressure and vicarious learning may have been a cause
4) Risk of possibly losing contact details in procedure which would makes results less generalsiable.
I ADDRESS THAT I FORGOT SOCIAL DESIRABILITY which is the best weakness but oh well, i am gutted but life goes on
What did u put for Madon evaluation? -
Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
Sorry I'm blabbing on xD but.............can u remember wat u put for that question on state 3 neutral behaviours (it may have said neutral or friendly)?
I got slightly stumbled there (agressvie behaviours would have been way better)
I put:
Helping someone who is hurt
shaking someones hand gently
and something else?? -
Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
Hey there!
For Madon Evaluation, I put:
weaknesses:
1)Previous drinking habits were not taken into account, so there was a possibility that parents predicted accurately, due to past experiences
2)Questionnaires-possibility of social desirability bias
3)Age-Bias-SFP may not apply to adults
4)Other factors, such as peer pressure were ignored
Only a correlation
5)Unethical: blames parents or investigation may have "created" negative beliefs, leading to SFP
strengths:
1)115 participants-reliable, more valid
2)Used boys and girls (although I may have been wrong-the texbook did not make it clear; it said that she used "children between 12 and 13 years of age)
3) Useful:can encourage parents to have more positive beliefs about their children. -

Re: Psychology GCSE, Edexcel
For some reason i remember basically 100% of this paper excluding 1 double page spread on Topic E.
I'm so glad minimal stuff on the 3 psychology jobs came up as i find that boring therefore i'm not too great at it. I was surprised to see nothing came up on Juries and Sigall and Ostrove or the whole Williams-Charlton thing.

Not happy...starting sixth form is scary....r u doing psych 4 a-level? I am, but we do the AQA (spec A).
