This genuinly happened to me today, and it is clearly going to affect my exam result. I really needed to take a poo but I was in a hurry to go to my exam at 9am. So there's me solving all the chemistry problems presented to me when all of the sudden a mysterious urge to poop comes back and my stomach starts grawling. The kid next to me looked in horror as I tried avoiding eye contact.

And then there it was, I couldn't hold it in any longer so I stopped doing my exam and focused on just not letting go! I could feel my butt was about to explode and I just sat there for like 5 minutes trying so hard not to do a Will-from-the-inbetweeners, and thinking how embarrasing it would be infront of all these people.

I had to go through this cycle every 15-20 mins, and had lost some of my exam time which was about 10 mins. I missed out on about 10 marks because I didn't have the time to finish my paper.

this was an Alevel exam which is my final chance, I don't know what to do. I'm really embrrassed and ashamed about discussing this with the exam officer and asking for the special circumstances thing that they do. I'm feeling terrible right now Not sure why I'm posting this, maybe someone can give me some advice.

PS. I did edexel unit 4 which was a resit. Sorry about the throwaway account, I don't know how to use the annonymous feature.

I laughed at the thread title. I'm imaging you sitting there with a 'me gusta' face. You won't be granted extenuating circumstances because you chose not to ask to go to the toilet and cannot even demonstrate you needed to go in the first place.

This almost happened to me! well not in an exam....

I was visiting my sister who studys in Nottingham and stays in student residence in the city centre and down the road from the uni.

So I had a (very hot and spicy) curry the night before when I arrived. The next day we were out in the town centre and I felt like I really needed to go to teh toilet. So, I told my sister I gotta seriouly get back to her place (lucky it was in the town centre!) sooo there I was limping as fast as I could and holding my stomach and felt so relieved when I got to her room! hoping I wouldn't experience that again. I was mistaken. 4 hours later the same feeling came over me and I told her Im not taking the piss but I think I gotta go again..... and she wa slike wtf! sooo again, I was limping through the town centre as fast as I could until I got to her room.

Anyways, you could have told them to let you go to the bathroom.... I mean, everyone goes to the toilet. It's natural. Also, since you had a bellyache, Im sure they would have given you like 10 mins extra....

If you embarrased to tell her the situation, just say you felt nauseas (did I spell that right?) and was tryin to keep yourself from vomiting

There really is nothing you can do now, just hope that you got everything right in the questions you did answer giving you an okayish grade.
Dont speak to your exams officer about this because it wont help, save yourself some embarassment.
Learn from your mistakes to wake up earlier and poo before exams! <3

On a serious note you should of just went out and quickly used the toilet. If i was the boy next to you I would of told you that in the exam

mine are normally 20 minutes but I think the average is about 10 minutes and OP would have had to walk to the toilet and back and settle themself back into their seat.

This thread is hilarious, but I feel for you OP; I've been in similar situations but not in exams. Whenever I have an exam, I make sure I eat (to avoid belly rumbling) and make a visit to the toilet to clear my system out before starting an exam.

You should have asked the invigolators if you can pop to the toilet and made it quick.

It may have taken just 5 mins, depending on how much the OP had to clear out. If the OP had visited the toilet dying the exam time then at least he/she would have been able to concentrate much better in the exam and thus possibly increasing the quality of answers.

As regards to the question, I highly doubt they would hold your circumstances as an acceptable or genuine circumstance.

I can't even believe I'm writing all this.

I don't understand why you didn't just ask to go the toilet in the exam? Would have been the normal thing to do. also to the Guy who thinks it takes 10 minutes to lay a log, you've obviously never tried power****ting
