Imagine if you fail your A2

Imagine if you fail your A2
Pretend that you got through your As's and got offers from universities.
Then you sat your A2 exams and did really badly, pulling your grades down so that they no longer met the offer.
Would there be any way to re-sit these exams, rather than re-take take the year and would you have to apply again through UCAS.
I think i just failed my tests, consecutively. I do not want to re-apply for UCAS, i only just sorted out the student finance
Any advice/experiences would be of help. Also, what about clearing or extra is that for people who do not meet their offers?
thanks
PS going to uni is not of the most importance in life, but it just seems such a waste of my time applying and trying to get in only to be turned down because of one bloody geography exam, especially when it's not the subject you want to do!

Re: Imagine if you fail your A2
No, the exam boards only release 1/2 papers a year. They don't make enough so that anyone can resit when they like.
I'm sure it didn't go as bad as you think, but if you do fail and still want to go to uni then retaking the year is the only real option. (except for clearing) -
Re: Imagine if you fail your A2But it won't be the whole year? it would be in January. But then, i would have to wait the whole year to go uni anyway! Argh you just can't win.(Original post by dean01234)

Dam you Edxcel!!! you ruin my life. i had it all planned out and everything -
Re: Imagine if you fail your A2It was (and still is) a genuine question. I'm not trying to make people feel bad.(Original post by College_Dropout)
What a way to demoralise people just as they are finishing exams.
Anyway, according to your username you dropped out of collage so it doesn't matter anyway -
Re: Imagine if you fail your A2I'm in the exact same situation. I feel awful because I am sure I wont meet my grades for uni now, because of one bad exam. If you fail to meet your grade requirements there is a very slim chance they may still let you in (but unlikely) and then you will be put into clearing. If you dont want any clearing places you will just have to re sit the year and apply for the next uni cycle again. x(Original post by Forget that)

Re: Imagine if you fail your A2A fountain degree? Is that one you do pre an actual one? Well done to your friend for getting in(Original post by roadkillzebra)
The only option you'd really have would be to resit a year or alternatively do a foundation degree, national diploma or other course for a year, that's what my friend did and she's been accepted onto the uni course she wanted this time round.

Re: Imagine if you fail your A2Thanks, yeah it's so annoying. I was kinda hopeing that they might let me because i dropped a A grade last year in favor of a C grade, but after these tests there's no chances. Oh well, everything happens for a reason i suppose!(Original post by Jenx301)

Re: Imagine if you fail your A2It's the equivalent of the first two years of an honours degree and once you've got it you can do an extra year of study to 'top up' to an honors degree. Some unis give you the option to do a year of a foundation degree and then transfer onto the course of your choice.(Original post by Forget that)

The qualification my friend took was an Art Foundation Diploma, it's equivalent to an A Level, the points for it are actually pretty high (UCAS Tariff: Pass: 165; Merit: 225; Distinction: 285) -
Re: Imagine if you fail your A2i now have motivation to revise! lol(Original post by Forget that)

you can re-sit certain exams, if you take a gap year, by enrolling just for certain exams.
also, clearing is yes, for people who dont meet their offers.
P.S. if you think you`ve failed the exam, there are probably others who have done crap too, you dont really know until results day, dependent on grade boundaries.
and sometimes, if you miss your offer by a few UMS they still let you on -
Re: Imagine if you fail your A2Do you mean the Geography AQA A2 today? I'm sure it won't have gone that bad! Grade boundaries are always super low remember!(Original post by Forget that)
