Am i allowed to do this in a maths exam?
Hi, i know the rule is that you must not carry notes with you in the exam obviously..

But a soon as i get in the exam hall, am i allowed to right some notes on a piece of paper or am i only allowed to do it once the exam starts?

If i do decide to do it before the exam starts, then one of the invigilators might think that i got it with me ...

You could just write notes as soon as the exam begins, just write on the question paper.

You have got to be joking... am I allowed to start my exam before everyone else? What do you think the answer is. NO!

 Seriously, you can write notes to your hearts content when the exam starts.

If you are seen with notes that will aid you in the exam you will be kicked out of the exam, no questions asked.

You can read your textbook/notes up until you sit down though, just make sure you hand them in before the exam starts.

I usually write formulas as soon as I sit down after reading them before entering the hall. I write them either on the desk (wth, they're badly vandalized anyway) or on the front page of the question paper. This all happens while people are still entering the hall.

The exam officer thought it was a brilliant idea when he spotted me doing it, whereas other amateur invigilators moan at me if they see me, but I do it during every exam because technically it's not cheating.

I tried to learn off most of my formulae but I wrote down the ones I didn't know in my formula booklet. Or as my maths teacher suggested 'on the front of the paper'

I write on the desk only when there are no invigilators hovering near me - but most of the time I just do it on the front of the exam as I already said.

I did it for S1, I couldnt remember some formulas so as soon as I sat down I wrote them on the front of the paper. Ive also done it in biology, where ive drawn a process in note form. Invigilators have seen me do it and not complained, its still my knowledge, ive not copied it down so its not like taking notes in.

Just to be safe I think you should wait for the exam to start then write them down, incase you get a really mean invigilator :/ don't want to risk losing your paper
