16) I put cos-1(90xadj/hyp). Stupid me, I forgot the angle wasn't needed, but I put it in and got 60 degrees. How much should I drop?

19) I had 4.88 x 10^-5 I think.

22) I went through the formula, obviously did a step wrong as I came out with two different numbers! How much should I drop?

26a) I had -a+b....not b-a.

I'm pretty sure I scored about 91-94 on this paper, but there were a couple of things I'm not sure if I'd get the marks for. What do you think about these answers?

• Q14(c): I answered "(x+7)x-7" as opposed to "(x+7)(x-7)". Does this count?
(d): I couldn't figure out the whole thing, but I got the first part - "3x^4". Will this get 1 mark?
• Q21: I thought it may have been a case of simplification, but in stead, I gave two examples of the equation with substituted values, then showed the results to be multiples of 8. Is there a mark somewhere there?
• Q26(a): For part a, I answered "-b-a". Is this still a valid answer?
(b): For b, I used my (a) answer and (I think, but my memory might be wrong) I gave the expression as
"-b+3/4(-b-a)". My teacher said this sounded right. Did I bugger it up?

That's about it. The higher mark trig questions were really fun for me!
Anyway, I'm super-chuffed that it was much easier than Monday's (which I may have got as low as 65 on!).
Hopefully this'll level my grade out XD

I don't know but it should be 1/4(3b+a) rather than a - inside the bracket

i think the lowest was around 155 but that was for a very hard pair of papers and they were harder than this one i think...but then again anything could happen due to it being a new spec, but A* probs around 170-175/200????

-a+b is right you can wright the vector both ways

Because even though mark boundaries are constantly changing they never really move huge amounts I.E never normally more then 10-15 marks

The question asked for the value of p, yet i gave the value of p^2 and didnt square root the answer to get P. I still put it in standard form and the working was fine until that point, so would i get 2/3?

Question 10 B:
For the inequality I answered x < 13/4. I didnt write x < 3.25 would i still get the full marks.

So you're estimating a C grade would be 25 from both papers? Hmm... seems a bit low.

Mr M, Question 13)- I got 28.25 however i thought it would be 28.15, as 25/100 = 1/4 so 1/4 of 60 = 15?
28.25 is still on the page so how many marks?

Question 23b) i had the answer of 21 with working out but i thought it was wrong
so i changed it to 48 with the Original working out, will i still gain 1 mark?

Question 25) - i did the first step of the working out so 12/20 x 11/20 and so on then itook it away from 1 to get the
answer however i forgot to times 20 and 19 for the denominator. How many marks would i get?

i dont know about 19 but for 10 you defo got the marks cause you could write either - they are equivalent
