Re: croatian islands
Hi
I have been to a few small islands near Dubrovnik for day trips, and loved them!
The Elaphiti islands (Sipan/Lopud/Kolocep) had small harbours and were very peaceful, even in summer but did have a few hotels, cafés, souvenir shops etc. from what I remember.
Lokrum was great for swimming, and a great getaway from the crowds of Dubrovnik. It was very small and had a fort on the hill. You can hear a lot of crickets there!
I heard Mljet was good but I haven't been there.
I'm not sure about the bigger ones up the rest of the Croatian coast but they're probably great! -
Re: croatian islandsAbsolutely stunning part of Europe. Maybe a bit quiet if you fancy hitting the town at night though.(Original post by mouldy)
I am going interrailing with girlfriend this summer and planning to end our travels with 5-7 days on the croatian coast, I was therefore wondering if anyone had been to any of these islands and therefore which they would recommend!
Thanks!
Big problem is getting there quickly as the train connections to Croatia are a nightmare at the best of times. -
Re: croatian islands
ive been sailing around the croatian islands starting in split, split is really lovely and definitely worth a visit. if they do any boat trips out to Mljet it is stunning!! however if you want to be a bit further north the beach parties in Pag are amazing!
hope you have an amazing time!
