I'm thinking to applying to do Social policy at university? (Dilemma)
But I only like the course at one university, guess which one if you really must and I don't like the university courses at the others in the same area, and as I want to be a lawyer would like to apply to law Degree's, like Law and Business... can I do this? or would it harm my application.
I'm applying for 2013. -
Re: I'm thinking to applying to do Social policy at university? (Dilemma)If you're thinking of where I think you want to apply for, then applying there and then applying to law elsewhere will harm your application for both law and social policy. Do not expect to get an offer for social policy with an application talking about why you want to study law - the university wants people who actually want to study the course they're applying for and will have more than enough applicants to chose from who genuinely want to study social policy.(Original post by Samc12)

If you want to be a lawyer, then apply for law and take some optional modules in social policy related aspects of law. I'm guessing (although may be wrong) that you want to apply for social policy at this other university simply because you want to go to this other university and they don't offer law. Ask yourself - if you could apply for law there, would you apply for law instead? If you would do then I'd advise you to find another university and apply for law there and forget about social policy completely. If you apply for law and business as a combined course then you will need to check that the courses lead to an LLB course which allows you to continue to actually practice law. Some joint honours courses require additional study after graduation if you haven't taken the necessary modules.
