Re: Edexcel Chemistry Unit 5 June 19 2012(Original post by sunnybacon)
Exactly, there were 4 different environments. It was a low NMR peak so splitting didn't even come into it.
It does matter, the number of environments is what determines the number of peaks in a low NMR spectra.
sunnybacon and others have said it's four......(Original post by iesians)
im so happy !! YAAYYY so it was 2 peaks right ??!! RELIEF !
how on earth can you say it's two?
IT really does shock me as to how people like you think they can hack A-level chemistry and yet you can't even get the basic principles right.
For goodness sake it's four. -
Re: Edexcel Chemistry Unit 5 June 19 2012I bet his teacher is a gold medal olymic sprinter as well as superman in his spare time.(Original post by sunnybacon)
I just googled it and caffeine has 4 peaks, just to reinforce what we were saying. If your teacher told you it's two, I would be very worried considering he holds a degree from Cambridge. -

Re: Edexcel Chemistry Unit 5 June 19 2012Lol but we did not learn about blood analysis in this unit..its got to be the IR and fuel cell(Original post by James A)
yeah i put IR and blood analysis.
Blood analysis is a very accurate method as it measures alcohol concentration in blood so i went for that. -
Re: Edexcel Chemistry Unit 5 June 19 2012Then you should be able to do basic NMR stuff!(Original post by ohwellohwell)
Hack off A level chemistry?!!? I got 120/120 and 118/120 in AS , WHAT DID YOU GET?! :P
I got 120/120 and 106/120 at AS, then 120/120 again this January.

Re: Edexcel Chemistry Unit 5 June 19 2012There was no "IR and fuel cell" option, apart from the "IR and blood" one the other three had dichromate in, which is no longer used, so it was by elimination that we worked out it was the blood one tbh.(Original post by @Sean43)
