I don't like 3D
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

I don't like 3D
Is there anyone else that actually prefers watching movies in 2D even if the option of watching it in 3D is given? I really don't see the appeal of it. It doesn't really immerse you in the film, it kind of does the opposite, since wearing those uncomfortable glasses makes you aware that you are sat in a cinema. It doesn't even make the film 3D either, all it does it make certain things pop out of the screen every now and then. The '3D' bits of the film just feel forced and detract from the experience. Not only that, but it after a while it hurts my eyes and gives me a headache.

Re: I don't like 3DI always go to the 2D showing, reason being I have a lazy eye and a very reduced level of stereoscopic 3D vision ... which is what 3D films take advantage of to produce the 3D effect.(Original post by like a boss)

I think it annoys my friends though, because it's often said, "Ooh, it's in 3D, we can go to that ... actually, no, wait, we can't, Rose's with us."

Re: I don't like 3D
Yeah I wear glasses too so the 'double lens' doesn't kinda ruins it for me. Furthermore, cinemas and films are so rediculously expensive nowadays that I begrudge paying 2 pound extra for a 3D film and more for glasses - especially when the film is rarely 100% in 3D. Yeah I always go 2D.

Re: I don't like 3D
I hate this 3D culture, it is just a money making gimmick. I went to see Avatar in 3D because that was the main feature of why it was made and I did enjoy it. However watching the film later on DVD, it is pretty easy to see that the 3D was just a cover up for a terrible and average storyline. Now every film that comes out has a 3D double and most of them are either down in post production, so less effective, or are used because the film would suffer on it's own. I want to go to see films with great storylines and cinematography that suck you up into their world not to get a headache and be bored for 2 hours.
