I'm reading Scrivener's Moon from the Mortal Engines series by Philip Reeve.
My favourite books are 1984 and after that, Lord of the Flies. Anything with a strong post-apocalyptic vibe is good for me

I know I will echo a few posters before me but my favs are.. (in no particular order :P)

*Hunger games Trilogy - AMAZING! And not like a lot of multi-book series as they are all fantastic books in their own right.
    *Harry potter
*True Blood books - although the first ten books are really good and just go downhill from there.
    *Twilight trilogy
*The Van by Rhoddy Doyle is a fantasic book set in Ireland. (Was a film too)
*The 5 people you meet in heaven by Mich Albom- is a must read.

In general though I stick to a group of chick-lit authors like sophie kinsella/Madeline Wickham, Lisa Jewell, Cecilia Ahern, Lindsey Kelk, Marian Keyes, Lauren Weisenberger....loads more lol

Right now im reading George R R Martins Game of Thrones books. Just started book 2 today - fantastic so far just like the TV series

Just finished 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. It's not going to win any literature awards, but it certainly had me gripped! On the second of the trilogy now.

At the moment I'm rereading the 'Anne of Green Gables' books - I don't think I've read them since primary school (possibly early years of secondary school), so I'm enjoying rereading them - I'd forgotten how much I like them. I'm just about to start 'Anne of Avonlea' again.

My all-time favourite book, although I hve numerous favourite books, is 'The Time Traveler's Wife', beautiful story, which, whilst being essentially a romance, brings a new twist on it and a new dimension, and is so heartbreaking... I cry like a baby at the end. I adore the characters, and I just love Henry and Claire. I also adore 'The Book Thief', the Harry Potter books, 'To Kill a Mockingbird', and many, many others...

reading now: The Kite Runner. my opinion so far? heartbreaking but lovely, and im only halfway through.

favourite: the harry potter series. every book. reason? they are intricately and flawlessly plotted from the first to the last, and i cant fault rowling's stunning characterisation. i legitimately love virtually every character (and love to hate the villains!)

That's because 'The Bloody Chamber' is just really bad.
You know, I think I'm coming around to that thinking.

I've just finished reading Dark Secrets by Elizabeth Chandler but I wouldn't recommend it. It's not her best work that's for sure; the minute it starts to get good the books ended and you're left think "wtf have I spent hours reading!"

The books I enjoied the most latley are 1984 by George Orwell and Good Omens by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman.

BTW I haven't read The Hunger Games yet, but for what I know from the sinopsis, it seems to be a copy of the Japanese Battle Royal.

edit: oh, I'm currently reading A Tale of Two Cities (Charles Dickens) and La mecanique du coeur (Mathias Malzieu)

Currently reading Fifty Shades of Gray, should be retitled as fifty shades of s***. Never trusting 'New York Times Bestseller' taglines ever again.
    My favourite book(s) is
The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham because it was the first book that I found really exciting and I can just read it again and again. He is also one of my favourite writers. You should also read The Chrysalids or The Midwich Cuckoos (better known as the book which Village of the Damned is based).
    and
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut because he is genius.
    I could not agree more.
I came on this thread to warn away from that book too. I love the way it's called "mummy porn" in the sun hahaha. I'm currently upto chapter 5, over a hundred pages in (i'm reading it on ebook so it might not be that much in paper back) and yes I just to not get all the hipe what so ever.
I had to laugh the other day I saw a t shirt in a shop window saying "I love Christian Grey" lol

Right now Im trying to get through the Hunger Games trilogy.. enjoying them thus far
Favourite book would have to be David Copperfield
    The richness of the charecters
The embedded social commentary and the variety of themes covered
And the way each age you read it you get something different out of it

This may sound weird but I felt same way about the Harry Potter serie
When I re.read them in later years, I found them much more deeper. Specially most of Dumbledore's sentences.

I'm currently reading the Lovely Bones - finally. I've heard good things about it, and I'm halfway through. Not sure what to make of it yet.

Favourite book....hmmm...... Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde would be one.

I'll probably think of a good book once I've posted.
