However, you will not find Asian girls on the street, only white girls. It is a sad fact that many of the girls who end up taking this route are from troubled backgrounds, and deeply concerning that they are often so young.

Yes it is very scary - thats because it is not true. These girls put themselves on escort sites - stood in the red light district and built a false identity all to back up that they are over 18.
How is it possible to lure or prey on someone you dont know surely you have to have some form of contact to do this - in the contruct of a red light district who is preying on who?
It is very wrong for everyone involved and also very wrong that prostituition exists though this is not what the men where on trial for - the trial was based on the charge that the men knew or believed the girls where over 18.
Some of the girls involved have freely expressed there ability to get served alchohol.
Im not wanting to incite though i do feel it is very important that the truth is relayed. Look at the facts not what the papers say - who would go to a red light district at 2am to find a child - ludicrous -

So you have no choice but to assess using other variables character, location, common sense and i am sure there are others.
Also note none of the men in this trial have any evidence to show they are interested in children - only the word of the complainant.
Due to the wording and nature of the allegation it appears that this is the only type of crime where a defendant has to prove there innocence as who could not feel sympathy for the obvious vicitms.
This was a very sad case and I believe all concerned have been victims in one way or another - sadly the media have gone for the easy sensationalist route, rather than conducting some real journalism. -

) who have came from unloving families, denied appropriate attention throughout their lives, sometimes search for love and attention in sex with adult men; the girls who are said to be "snared" or "caught in a pervert's web", to use two of many similar entrapment metaphors, in the media may well have sought out the men rather than the stereotype of dodgy men on the prowl for underage girls. It doesn't make it their own fault if they are exploited, if anything it is the fault of the authorities for not offering sufficient emotional and psychological care to attack the root cause of children prostituting themselves.
Banging on about "supervision" as a portion of the Press see fit to do misses the bigger point: there is no way every vulnerable Looked After Child could be put in secure accommodation or watched non-stop to prevent this going on, and it would only fracture vital relationships with adults that ought to be predicated upon mutual trust of the kind the client has so far lacked in their short, often tragic life.
A further issue which can only be resolved on anything like a permanent basis by structured intervention is that many victims in these cases have been sexually abused regularly throughout their lives and are driven by a tendency to re-enact their abuse. I must correct you on "no-one" looking for children in the middle of the night, as punters know that underage girls will be out, certainly those in the 13-15 age group, and there is unfortunately a large demand for that service although I believe and hope it is much smaller than the demand for "barely legal" young women aged 18 to 21 who some of the minors may pretend to be.
