    Engine oil help - 5w30 or 0w30?
Hi - I have a 2003 BMW 318i 2L Petrol (64k mileage) and wondered if it's okay to use Castrol Edge 5w30 instead of 0w30?

Halfords recommends 0w30 for my car but what will be the difference if I were to use the 5w30 instead?

    Thanks

It's extremely unlikely to damage your car at all, it's a very similar grade. You'd be better off getting the correct grade if possible, but if not then the 5w will be fine.

The difference between those grades is only relevant at very low temperatures.
