Tip to getting tubby:
Eat normally, exercise a lot for one month. After one month, eat lots, exercise little. After one month, for metabolism gets used to that exercise and consumption, so afterwards you'll blow up like a balloon when you eat more and stop exercise. Wouldn't advise this for a girl though /: , but useful for men wanting muscle -

I have the same problem :/ I'm 6 ft 0 and weigh 52kg and I cannot put on weight... I eat junk food a lot and I've tried the gym and I literally switch between 50 - 54 kg all the time ... :/(Original post by Princess008)

You'd lose weight, but your body would eventually get used to exercise and would intake X amount of food, burn off Y amount of food from exercise, and store X-Y amount of food as fat regularly.(Original post by Princess008)
I do eat and eat but i get full up so quick. and i still eat and i drink milkk as well . i did put on weight but i don't look fat or my legs and arms are still skinny. if i exercise wouldnt i loss weight?
Then once you stop and consume more, you'd intake X+2 amount of food, burn off Y-2 amount of food, and therefore store (X+2)-(Y-2) amount of food as fat (which is bigger). That's the way I learnt about how body adaptations work. Slightly crazy, but proven to work

Its common amongst men. For example, I wanted to put on weight so I'd have an advantage in my sport. And personally, in women curves are better than sticks(Original post by Arva)
Why in hell would anybody in their right minds want to get fat?
I have nothing against overweight people, some find it really hard to lose weight. However I simply can't understand somebody wanting to become fat.

Re: Hate being skinny! The OP said they want to get fat, not gain weight.(Original post by es.c)

Not being fat
being skinny/a stick.

Re: Hate being skinny! But why the hell would you want to put on weight in term of body fat, it would be far better to put on weight for basically any sport in terms of muscle.(Original post by es.c)

It's not common among men to try and increase their weight in terms of body fat which the OP is implying. -
It is, well at least amongst all the guys I've known who are normal build guys. Body fat can easily be turned into muscle as long as you eat protein and do weight training at least 3 times a week. I guess because I'm more in contact with youths my age, looking hench is what people want to be, but I guess for older people, theyd rather lose weight. This is The 'Student' Room so I assumed the majority of readers would be around my age(Original post by Chris P Chicken.)

Re: Hate being skinny!
Eat more calories than you use in a day simple. So what if you eat junk food. I could eat nothing but junk food and stay skinny if I wasn't eating a calorie surplus.
Edit:No, fat cannot be turned into muscle two completely different types of tissue. If your fat and start building muscle you look even fatter. So much misinformation on this forum regarding fitness.(Original post by es.c)
