    Deferred entry and bad exams..
I applied for uni this year and selected deferred entry so I could get some money behind me in a year out.
I'm currently doing my a2's and not very confident that I'll get the grades I need for my first choice.
I was wondering, as I've selected to defer my entry, if i don't get the grades would i be able to resit in Janurary say and still get in for 2013 or what would happen?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, I'm so nervous about my exams! Hope you're all getting through your exams alright, good luck!

Highly doubtful. If your university is lenient and allows you in on the basis of your lower grades, then yes.

However if not, you will have to re-apply for 2013 entry as the offer letter normally states that all conditions have to be fulfilled by August 2012.

How does resitting usually work during your gap year? As results from Jan come out in March, and some exams can only be sat in June - do you just apply with a predicted grade in the subject your resitting? Probably missing something here...

You just have to go back to school as an assistant maybe and take the exam when you can. Yeah, you apply with a predicted cause I did that last year when I was due to resit History.

Okay, so I'd cancel my application for this year or whatever and just reapply?

Yup, pretty much. By not making the required grade, you would be automatically rejected on UCAS from your firm/insurance universities.

Then you just re-apply next year with the grades you've already achieved, plus predicted grades for any of the subjects you're resitting.
