Re: London tourist's illegally parked car blown-up by policeThere would be enough time to see most of London's attractions before the AA arrived, though.(Original post by Lord-Voldemort)
Wtf why would he go 'sightseeing' while waiting for the AA? -
Re: Tourists car blown up by police in LondonThe timing is irrelevant. Night time or early (hours of) morning, depending on interpretation. Storey's Gate is a small side road/alley way, that is not particularly busy. And regardless of whether he went home or went sight-seeing, (for all I care, he could have gone to a brothel), it still doesn't give a logical rationale or make it any more acceptable to blow up his car! The DVLA could have easily traced the owner of the car, AS PER USUAL!!!(Original post by rmhumphries)
He phoned the AA (so someone was coming to fix it) and he went sight-seeing, not home. It was left early in the morning, not during the middle of the night.
If they honestly were considering an anti-terrorist squad to "neutralize the threat", surely a primary survey using X-rays or ultrasonography, (which are widely available in that line of work) should have been done. They seem however to have had enough time and resources to rig the car with charges for a controlled detonation. -
Re: London tourist's illegally parked car blown-up by policewell, it was tongue in cheek, but if your one of those poeple who takes everything super seriously...(Original post by sconter)
because you knowlege of explosives is better than the bomb squad, right?
my point is, if they had checked for bombs, there wouldn't be any, therefore no point in blowing it up.
If they hadn't checked for bombs, and were doing so by blowing the boot off in a controlled explosion, well some explosives are incredibly volatile, and some chemicals mixed, this small controlled explosion may be enough to cause them to go bang, in an uncontrolled explosion. -
Re: London tourist's illegally parked car blown-up by policeIf there was a bomb, it'd have blown up anyway so at least do it when the polcie have cleared everyone away. If there wasn't a bomb, that'll teach the sneaky wotsit to try and get free illegal parking(Original post by brunettegirl92)
