Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!
What I don't get is why they (as in the morons) feel the need to give 16 year olds the vote. Yeah, sure, give it those easily motivated by the emotional feel SNP brings. It's not like anyone's ever had to ask 16 year olds to be rational ever.
Maybe there should be a referendum on whether the Holyrood parliament stays and it requires over 50% of all registered voters to remain.Last edited by Snagprophet; 14-06-2012 at 23:21. -

Hell, Ireland split from the Union and they've been fine ever since. Good luck Scotland.

Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!I think the point he was trying to make is when Ireland gained independence they were told they wouldn't last long before trying to unite again, fair to say they have created a good stable country its a real shame about the financial crisis though, such a wonderful country.(Original post by Good bloke)
Nobody made you aware of this, then?

Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!You see, this is the problem with the internet. I can't properly convey sarcasm without the tone of voice.(Original post by Good bloke)

Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!Actually, I was going (unsuccessfully) for sarcasm, but I would note that the Irish have gone from having their affairs dictated from London to having them dictated from Washington and Brussels.(Original post by ALazyThracian)

You see, this is the problem with the internet. I can't properly convey sarcasm without the tone of voice.
I'm sure everyone will get it then. -

Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!Location: Edinburgh(Original post by Cannotbelieveit)
No thanks, I'm going to vote no, and I'm confident the majority of Scotland will do the same. -
Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!Your point?(Original post by internet tough guy)
Location: Edinburgh -
Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!Edinburgh is probably somewhat less representative of Scotland as a whole, for example take the jubilee celebrations two weeks ago, I think there were far fewer street party applications in Scotland compared to the rest of the UK, but where there were street parties in Scotland, they were almost certainly in Edinburgh. Not saying theres a direct link/correlation to the issue of independence but I think that does offer some indication about how people there feel about the concept of being part of the United Kingdom. Not done any extensive research into this, but I'm willing to bet that the most fervent republican and/or scottish-independence-supporting terroritories in Scotland lie elsewhere away from Edinburgh.(Original post by Cannotbelieveit)
Your point? -
Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!There really isn't much indication that there are any places in Scotland where there is some sort of fervour for Scottish nationalism. I think there will be a few places which are strongly against any of this independence talk - the south and the Northern Isles for example - but I don't think the opposite is true, or indeed that Edinburgh actually falls into that category.(Original post by internet tough guy)

Re: Reminder to Scots: Vote Yes!
Yet to see people discuss Scottish independence with facts instead of just assumptions with no real substance to them. The only arguments I have heard so far is that it will become like Ireland and that we are strong together, I am yet to hear a pro independence argument. So really I have heard 2 cases for the union and neither have anything to them.
They have just been "we are stronger together" "why?" "we just are shut up"
