Not in my opinion, people seem to think he's wonderful but he comes across as arrogant and believing the hype about him, and at time's it's come across like "my bipolar gives me my genius" - creating a false stereotype about the illness that if he can have it and get where he is, so can anyone.

Who cares? If you don't even know how to use a sword then your claim to being a knight is nonsense and the title is meaningless. No; "swords" of the pork variety do not count, sorry Stephen.

So you can't stand him hence he should not be knighted.

Also he appeared on television a few years ago and was asked what he would say to Her Majesty if he met her...

"Wrap some skull round this bitch"

was the witty response from Mr Fry.

Knighthoods are a bit daft to be honest.

I didn't know encyclopedias could walk and talk before I first encountered Stephen Fry, he is pretty awesome!

as i mentioned earlier he invited the Monarch to have oral sex with him.

he is not getting any kind of honour let alone a knighthood.

Reckon Stephen Fry could pass most A levels without even looking at the syllabus?

Let me reiterate my stance: He should get a Knighthood. Emphasis on the 'should'.

Its a different issue entirely whether he can or cannot.

Knighthoods are a waste of time. I respect people for what they achieve, not the title before their name. And whilst honours are often used to mark achievement, when they are as vague and insubstantiated as a knighthood it renders them essentially meaningless.

of course he shouldn't... Knighthood is an order of chivalry in the Queen's gift. Mr Fry has shown a complete lack of chivalry towards his Monarch.
He should be thrown in the Tower.

Stephen Fry has brought so much lulz and joy to my life. He's British comedy at its finest. I really wish he would be knighted :3 Question is, would he even take it if he was offered?

As much as I like him, I don't think he has done quite the things a knighthood warrents. For good, or bad.

As a debator, he is a league above many many people. Only slightly bettered I would say by the late great Christopher Hitchens.

That's what I was thinking. I'm not sure Stephen would take it, even though he deserves it.
