The overhead's for the university are lower, as they bought out private management school based in London, that they had a prior partnership with (http://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/5473). They appear to have retained the business model of the private college to run the London campus. They are only offering a limited range of courses, which do not require any specialist equipment. In addition they have 3 intakes per year instead of the traditional 1, which means that the staff and facilities are utilised year round, unlike the main campus where upto 6 months a year there are no classes (christmas, easter and summer holidays plus reading weeks). They are aiming this campus at the international student market, a market sector which may be harder to recruit at the main campus. Attendance is strict, due to visa regulations. They don't mention any student living accomodation, so I would assume that is up to the student to organise unlike the main campus (another overhead lowering measure, I suspect). To be fair there are lots of private halls of residence in London, although they are expensive.

The recent changes to tier 4 visas, which resulted in students at private colleges loosing permission to work may have affected the ability of LSMS (the prior private partner) to recruit overseas students. With Glyndwr taking ownership of this partnership, students are enrolled at state funded university and should be granted student visas which allow them to work up to 20 hours a week in term time. From an international student standpoint the new ownership arrangement is more secure, the student visa changes have resulted in many legitimate private colleges going out of business.

The London campus is at Hannibal House Elephant and Castle, not the nicest but not the worst location. The building itself has been used for educational purposes for some time, but was originally an office block. Look up the area on google streetview. The estate agents would describe it as up and coming slowly. There are lots of students in this area due to London South Bank University and London College of Communication being nearby.

Not going there, but understand how these satellite campuses work.

Hi Raheel1; I think that now you have almost finished your course... I wanted to ask you some information about the Glyndwr in London. How is the campus ? Are there many international students ? And specially how are the professors ?
