What are the highest UCAS points a student can miss from your conditional offer?

I know it depends on the university, the course and how much you miss by but I've read people's answers on here and they have missed on offers but still got accepted in their respective universities and I'm curious to know what are the highest people have missed from their offers.

I have an offer for 300 points for my course at City University. I went to the open day and asked the admins tutor about what would happen if I missed it by 20 points, he said it's fine but as long as I get a decent grade in maths.

So to answer, I'd say as long as you have a good grade in important subjects then they may allow you if you miss it by 20 points, 40 at a push but that's going a bit too far

If you've applied to a competitive university then you can't afford to drop any grades really.

It is entirely up to the university - even they will not be able to give you a concrete answer as it will depend on what percentage meet their offers etc.
