Ripping DVDs to iPod touch 4th generation
I've got handbrake and the DVD I want.

What do I do to ensure that it is not out of sync etc...

    Provide screenshots if possible

Handbrake is for file compression or conversion not ripping.

You would need software such as ripit to get a dvd file then you would convert it or "compress" it to an mpeg4 for your ipod.

Handbrake will rip DVDs, however it might not be able to rip every DVD.

Mangoh, I don't think you need to do anything to ensure the video is in sync, just select the output settings (resolution, quality) and run it.

The DVD has chspters, do I create chapter markers as well?

Use the iPhone 4 preset, it has the same resolution as your iPod.

If chapters are displayed in the box below the chapter markers tick box and you want chapter markers then tick the box. I am not sure if it will create them or not as I haven't used this feature before.

    I don't get it.

iTunes great quality around 800MB for movie
Movie converted from handbrake using iPhone 4 settings = 5GB and stutters a lot

What codec were you using? I always use H.264 and have never had any problems. I'm not sure about the file sizes and how large they usually are because I don't really put any videos or films on my iPhone, they stay on my iPod Classic.

If you are ripping a dvd the stuttering could be caused by scratches on the disc, if the source is fine then I don't know what might be causing the stuttering.
