Advantages and disadvantages of working in a hospital?
I want to become an optometrist if things all go to plan and I either have two options: to work in a practice (shop) or hospital. I would LOVE to work in a hospital as I believe the dynamics of such a work environment are much more diverse and you get to meet more people and there's a lot more going on than in a practice. I also love the idea of one day becoming a consultant optometrist.

However I still haven't had any work experience in a hospital yet (arranged to have some in summer) and was wondering what the benefits and disadvantages of working in one are compared to working in a practice?

(Also, this might sound really silly but when I watched Junior Doctors they kept having to transfer to different hospitals after a certain amount of time, this wouldn't apply to me would it?)
