I liked it, I did the poem, I actually enjoyed that one. For the essay I did the first relationship one, about people being attacted to unconventional relationships.

I hope not! :O I guess it affects the AO pertaining to coherence and structure in your essay..

I did the prose - I THINK I understood it! But I practised the unseen to death, so I felt pretty confident about it.

...the 60 mark on the other hand...ahh crap.
I waffled so much!! I clearly didn't practise writing those essays enough! :L (Corelli, Gatsby and Metaphysical, btw)

hey, I know most of you have already done your exam (although there may be a few resits....) but I REALLY struggle with A03 comparison... as well as the critics aspect, I've learnt some quotes but what do I do with those quotes to hit the top marks?

I remember being in your position this time last year! I did the exam last summer and I was panicking so much about this aspect but there is nothing to be worried about.

All you need to do is be evaluative in your comparison. e.g. "In The Kite Runner the writer's use of metaphor to show X helps achieve this effect on the reader. However in the poem by Owen, his use of metaphor is significantly more effective as this ilicit feelings within the reader which conjure up deep sadness/pain"

The example is pretty bad, but this is what I did in the exam and it worked out very well for me.

Hi, anyone taking this exam in June? I took it in January and was 3 marks off what I needed so am retaking it! I find it really difficult to get high marks for the 60 marker.

I'm doing relationships too but i have different texts. It's so difficult getting the high marks! The key is to plan it first.
I'm hoping the unseen poem will be good because I have done nothing on the prose!

I did this exam in January and got a B, am entered for the summer retake, not sure if I'm going to sit it though! I've studied Gatsby, Rapture and Metaphysicals. How're you all feeling about it?
