    £700/£800

I was buying repairing and selling top end smartphones.

I cocked a few iphones up and a couple of HTC phones. Can't remember exactly how much it was but it caused a **** stir. Then again you have to start somewhere right.
Yeah. I want to try to do some phones for £30 start up cost :P

The biggest risk I see in this business is that you buy a phone with a cracked screen, and it turns out that it's got other problems with it, perhaps cosmetic damage or something more serious - you're tying capital up in unsaleable assets, possibly after fixing them, meaning more outlay. It's not scalable, it doesn't work, the market is saturated. I'm out.

That would mean buying very cheap phones and fixing them with very cheaply made bad quality replacements.

Every business has some sort of risk attached.

And yes the market is very saturated.

It does take a while to build a big customer base but once it's there, they are usually loyal assuming you don't mess anything up.

If you cannot fix it you can sell it on probably for a smaller price so it is not completely unsaleable.

Also surprisingly people buy broken bits and bobs for good prices. I managed to sell just broken screens for £80 on ebay.

It can range from websites and online auctions such as ebay and amazon and gumtree to friends, friends of friends, family. I sometimes go to local phone shops and to the market but their prices are pretty crap.
