Specsavers testing for Glaucoma?Eye tests for relatives (over 40) of people who have had Glaucoma is apparently free at Specsavers, but do you need to have proof of a Mother/Father having had this condition? If so what kind of proof do you need?

My Mum gets this, I don't think she had to provide any evidence. Check with your optician. It could be different with each place that you go.
I get free eye tests because I have diabetes. I haven't had to provide any evidence to the optician that I am diabetic. I just tell them that I get free eye tests on the NHS because of it.
(I go to Boots)
I guess if they were to investigate they could see if you are lying just to get free eye tests. -

Re: Specsavers testing for Glaucoma?I'm not sure if you're concerned about glaucoma and want to be tested, or if you are asking if you can get a free eye test...
An eye test is only about £10-£20 anyway, it's the glasses can be expensive. Do you qualify for NHS exemption?
As for proof, they will ask if there's any family history.
If you're concerned about glaucoma because of a family history, they will likely test you for it anyway. I think most opticians do it now anyway; they will generally do a test for intraocular pressures, photograph the back of your eye, and maybe do a field of vision test.
