    Help with pubic hair shaving!
I'm a girl and I'd like to keep my downstairs nice and smooth... but shaving is so irritating! It makes my skin break out in red bumps which don't go away until the hair grows back.

Does anyone have any tips to make shaving my pubic hair a less unpleasant experience?

Make sure you pull the skin taut, that's what I do - doesn't eradicate the bumps, but helps a LOT, especially with the redness. Use your hand and press the skin above where you're shaving and push gently upwards, so it goes tighteer, then use some soap/shaving cream and shave away I also sometimes put some moisturiser on afterwards, that sometimes helps a bit.

    Thanks I'll try that.

Trimming is probably the best way without having to deal with irritation.

I've heard using actual hair conditioner helps to soften it. Just put a little on as soon as you get in the shower, shower your entire body to give the conditioner time to work and then shave off at the end. I personally think waxing is the best, but the pain is unreal haha.

I use hair removal cream which is quite good.

Shaving in a hot shower or bath is good as pores are open. Possibly light exfoiliating and apply baby oil prior to shaving and after to soften the hair follicles and make it not so irritable. You could also apply alone vera after.

Also don't shave too frequently and make sure that the razor is not blunt or too old.

I hate this! Haha but I tend to just deal with it. I use conditioner rather than shaving gel or whatever, it is sooo much better
Recently tried hair removal cream but I found it wasn't as effective as shaving. I bought some waxing strips to try tehe but waiting til I feel brave

    Wax do not shave
shaving seems easy and painless but when it starts growing its horribly itchy and doesn't look smooth for as long as waxing so trust me get a brazilian or do it yourself if you wanna save $.

As others have said; do it after youve had a hot bath as apparently it softens the hair and the follicles [i think thats what the base of the hair is called:rolleyes: making it less irritable, use moisturiser afterwards, do not use a blunt razor as itll give you razor burn and if possible use an electric one i found they lesten the irritation, and again try not to do it every day unless needs must as it generally speaking worsens the problem ..
personally id go against using hair removal cream down there though, not sure about for girls, but when i used it it was very unpleasant plus it grows back very stubly very quickly -_-
best solution is probably waxing to be quite frank.
but i know your issue the rash and redness are a real ****er -_-

Would second the suggestion about an electric razor, they are relatively cheap these days and the cheap ones are not as crappy as the used to be.

I've read some people apply oils in between shaves just to keep the area soft/moisturised.

I have no idea why hair removal cream causes irritation with guys but there are a buttload of reviews on Amazon that are tear inducingly hilarious it has to be said.

I think just test a few methods and see what works for you.

Plus the decent strong hair removal cream for down there tend to a horrible smell. Shave, wax or laser is the way to go.

Do you use shaving cream? That seems to irritate the hell out of my skin, I use conditioner. Make sure the water's nice and hot. And moisturise

a hot environment such as during a shower will soften hair making it easier to remove. Also use a razor with 4 or 5 blades as this provides a closer shave. But in all honesty, try waxing. The results last longer and hair will become fine over time. You'll become used to the pain (if any) over time. It's much better than shaving

Hmm this looks like a disturbing thread

*sees that OP is a girl and not a boy as initially thought*

    Why hello there :perv:

It's best to shave just after (or even during) a shower as the skin will be smoother and you could use an itch cream afterwards if there is any discomfort.

Why not just trim it rather than shave it? If you're going to do it then get it waxed professionally; 90% of women look like they shaved their pussy with a broken beer bottle.
