    Lively uni not in city??
I am currently looking at universities, and am quite a sociable person who likes to go out!
I was just wondering if there are any universities with great nightlife that isn't in a big city (eg manchester london birmingham etc)
    Thank you!

Durham and St Andrews are nice, small towns with substantial student populations. Loughborough is a tiny town with one nightclub, but when I visited the students there were at pains to tell us all how much fun they had there.

    Loughborough immediately came to mind.

A good university, not a particularly big town but well connected to big cities (Nottingham and Leicester) and it is always winning awards for its Student Union and nightlife.

well Solent is good for night life Southampton is a small city and everything is withing walking distance if you really don't want the whole town thing Hartford is perfect it is outside the town has it's own nightclub on campus accommodation and it even has a train station if you suddenly feel like that you want a night out in town or you need to go in to town to go clothes shopping or something.

Reading has a fair few clubs but is still technically a town, plus the uni itself is on the outskirts, so you're removed from the town bits.

Bristol's good, great nightlife, and even though it is a fairly big city it really doesnt feel like one, especially up near Clifton area!

This but not sure why you'd ever even consider Solent when you could go to the actual University of Southampton as Southampton isn't that big a place
HAY I resent that I want to Solent and had the time of my life so think before you post OK you may offend someone.

What about Durham, its in a small town that's technically a city.because of the cathedral, but there are tonnes of students here and you have Newcastle's night life a short train ride away.

Reading university? Its located in the town of Reading in Birkshire, the campus is lovely and everything is close by (and on campus too). There are bars within the campus itself. In town, there are a number of great bars and pubs which offer fantastic nights out. Im going to study here at the university of Reading next year and looking forward to it
