    started smoking
Hi guys. Despite advice from everyone telling me not to I have recently started smoking and regret it very much. I tried smoking a few months ago thibking I won't become addicted and will just enjoy the occasional fag. However the ocasional fag has turned into a regular habit and now I'm smoking more and more. 6 months ago I had never smoked but today I smoke atleast ten cigs sometimes 15. I really regret starting and am worried I am going tp be relisnt on more and more . Please help, yes I know I'm stupid for staring .

    Why dont you just stop

You remind me of fat people who cant stop chucking fried chicken down their throats. If you arent weak it shouldnt be much of a hassle. If youre weak and lazy then you will continue

Agreed with muddy, to a certain extent. If you can't master your own body then what can you do?

It's not a physical need, you don't suffer injury by stopping, it's all in your head.

See if you can find a clinic/gp to give you some advice
Use a substitute like patches/gum and gradually decrease the amount you use over time
    Good luck!

Just stop, its a waste of money and its just horrible. I smoke but I have cut down alot due to not enjoying it and the cost is terrible.

A few months of addiction isn't that difficult to get over. I normally wouldn't say this to an addict, but just stop smoking.

I dont think its a personality weakness nor do I really agree with this 'its all in your head' argument, Everything is in 'our head', every painful or pleasurable experience is 'in our head', so thoughts and beahviours can be difficult things to modify.

Why dont you go to a stop smoking clinic? Alot of GPs have them, they are nurse led and ive heard good things about them.

I was in the same situation as you, but it happened gradually over the space of a few years. I've now stopped which I never thought I could, and the reason is that i'm saving for a better car. Find yourself something to focus your money on and you may just want to quit the habit.

Cut back, stop. Spend the money you save on items you want to remind yourself the financial harm you're doing as well as the physical harm.

Have you tried smoking a pipe? It's more relaxing plus you don't inhale smoke

Get nicotine patches. It is a real addiction. Gradually cut down, don't go cold turkey.

Still get throat/mouth cancer though. Plus, some smoke is inevitably inhaled.

    I wonder why that is?

If you have any kind of willpower and if you arent weak minded it shouldnt be a big deal. That is if you actually want to stop smoking.
