Re: EU Budget Regulation Treaty
The Czech Republic believes that this is a pointless political move by the MHoC to fulfil its electoral promises, without any concern for what is actually good for Europe. We believe that this Treaty is not needed, given that we already have a budget amendment in the guidance document to allow EU budgets to be passed on a yearly basis (which also specify maximum rises and cuts). We will not support this Treaty, and intend to veto it as it stands

The Czech Republic has vetoed this treaty. The vote shall continue on this as a pact. A pact may be signed if two or more states agree to the terms of the original treaty. -

Re: EU Budget Regulation TreatyOOC: Thanks for bringing this to me attention.(Original post by stanlas)
OOC: Since when did Birchington represent an EU country? Thought he was Indonesia and Iran.
That does however show the importance of always doing an open poll in the future to see which countries voted
This is why I've begun using open polls.
Could you remove Birchington's vote please?(Original post by thunder_chunky)

Re: EU Budget Regulation Treaty
I fundamentally disagree with the Czech representative. The proposals outlined bring structure to the European budget and set a framework in place so we can create a budget that supports growth and development but is not immune to cutbacks should member states need to curb contributions to the budget. I say the European Union continues with the vote. Can CZ veto this proposal? Should it not be states influential states, Big Three, Big Four?

Re: EU Budget Regulation TreatyAny EU member state may veto a treaty. However, that means it can still be voted upon and become a pact which this has now become. This pact will certainly put pressure upon next year's budget to fall in real terms.(Original post by frankayak)
