Why are you even complaining? Surely it's a good thing?
hahahaha because i think exam boards are stupid... and i tend to like complaining
although i agree with your point above that if you had learned the course well enough it did matter that it was a copied question cos you should know it anyway... but at the same time... private school teachers specifically telling their students to do that paper pisses me off. thats all.
tbh i dont think the question being recycled gave people an advantage because if you were dedicated enough to do the 2003 paper during revision it just shows that you were working hard and revising properly anyway, so regardless of whether you had already done the question or not, you would probs still get it right cos of the amount of revision that youv done.
i just think ocr is stupid.

You have virtually described every exam taken in this country at GCSE and at A-level.
    what exactly is your point?

I see nothing wrong with it.

Exams DO test whether a student has memorised the content and can regurgitate it onto the exam paper. Nothing more, nothing less.

are you from a private school?

and no its not all about regugitating... its about applying your knowledge as well.

you have really rubbish arguements by the way.

This whole thing is ridiculous. The reason that I, and I'm sure many other people, did not do this paper is because we're doing a new specification and didn't want to get confused over what was and was not going to be needed for this one, and has nothing to do with 'dedication' to revision or whatever else people have said! Personally I don't find doing past papers particularly useful most of the time as I prefer to memorise what we need to know, but if I'd done this paper I would have got full marks instead of dropping a couple on the labelled diagram one. There's no problem with reusing the occasional definition question or rewording a question about a biological process or something, but something this specific being reused is just unfair as far as I'm concerned. As a sidenote, what's with the bitter private schools comment? I'm from one and I never heard anything about this, so I think the word you were looking for was 'schools'.

exactly... esspecially since it was a labellling a diagram which for students who have seen the picture is a much bigger advantage because many people labelled the round thing as a nucleus, and a synoptic calculation which people should of learned in AS and probably wouldnt have revised over cos its in the AS module.
im sorry the bitter private school comment is because it shows a complete lack of professionality when some private schools know whats going to come up in the exam because they have links with people in the exam board. im sure its not the case with many private schools, but the fact that some do exist out there who cheat in this way just invalidates the whole education system.

They better still give marks for this question as I thought I did fairly okay in it!

they probably will do, i doubt they'd even do anything about it. what did you label things as? thats the only part i got wrong, i wasnt sure what i was looking at, whether it was the muscle fiber or the different bands :/

Think it was something like Z line, nucleus, sarcomere?

Evidently you're not a physics, design technology, computing, or chemistry, or maths student.

I'd like to see someone do fairly well in those exams without understanding of core concepts.
